MadAss 125 - Sachs Innovative New Motorcycle
While it's true that every Sachs motorcycle and scooter is innovative by definition, it's also true that in the history of Sachs Bikes this may be the most unique design ever released by the historic German company. The Sachs MadAss 125 is an urban light-weight motorcycle designed to rock the perception of what a motorcycle should look like and ride like.
The MadAss has an exclusive Sachs engineered frame design that is the whole key to how the bike handles so well. The banana swing arm, the rear mono shock, and main frame all run parallel to each other. This allows jolts from the rear wheel to be sent forward into the front suspension, and not up into the rider. Fuel is carried in the frame, and together you get an incredibly light and nimble machine weighing just 209 lbs. Other design features include twin 55 watt headlights, dual disc brakes, low profile tubeless tires on 16" alloy rims, and 43 mm front forks.
The MadAss is being sold in the U.S. exclusively by Peirspeed Powersports Dealers. Bill Peirce, President of Peirspeed said, "The first shipment of 2010 Sachs MadAss 125's are now available on dealer showrooms. We're excited that the demand for the MadAss 125 has remained high ever since dealers started taking pre-orders a year ago. And despite tough economic times, dealers are reporting brisk sales."
The 2010 Sachs MadAss 125 has been available in a small number of Peirspeed dealerships starting the first of August 2009. More Peirspeed dealers are expected to receive their first shipments within 60 days

PERMATEX® CELEBRATES 100TH ANNIVERS

Permatex, a leader in chemical technology for automotive maintenance and repair, is marking its 100th year in business. The company was founded in 1909 by Constant A. Benoit Sr., a creative chemist, who started the business with a simple glue he developed for bonding bicycle tires. Mr. Benoit was also a motorsports enthusiast and frequently attended car races. At a 24-hour race in 1915, he noticed that many of the cars were constantly blowing head gaskets and pitting for repairs. Benoit came up with a sealant that solved the problem and launched Permatex into the automotive chemical maintenance business.

Yokohama Tire Corp. Expands Off-The-Road Tire Sizes at MinExpo Show
Yokohama Tire Corporation is featuring four new sizes for its off-the-road (OTR) tire models at the 2008 MINExpo tradeshow (booth #8785), a mining industry exposition held every four years in Las Vegas. The RT41™, launched in late 2007 with a 26.5R25 offering, is now available in two additional sizes - 29.5R25 and 23.5R25. The RB31™, on the market since 1997 will also add two new sizes, 26.5R25 and 29.5R25, to the currently available 17.5R25, 20.5R25 and 23.5R25 lineup.
Both tires feature Yokohama’s flexible OTR belt wire and four layers of steel belts, the industry’s strongest belt package, that “does everything from improve wear and durability to increase stability,” according to Gary Nash, director of OTR sales at Yokohama.
“The RB31 and RT41 have an incredible amount of technology built into them,” said Nash. “These advancements translate into improved performance and longer tire life, which means equipment spending more time on the job making businesses profitable.”

GM Full-Size Pickups And SUVs introduces their new 'XFE' Models
General Motors is building on the segment-leading fuel economy of its full-size pickups and SUVs with new XFE models of the 2009 Chevy Silverado, Chevy Tahoe, GMC Sierra and GMC Yukon. The vehicles use a combination of mechanical, aerodynamic and mass-reducing enhancements to deliver a 5-percent increase in EPA-estimated highway fuel economy and more than 7-percent improved mileage in city driving.
The aero enhancements make Silverado XFE and Sierra XFE models the most aerodynamic full-size pickups in the industry, with a “Best in Class” 0.412 coefficient of drag (cd). The pickups join the Tahoe Hybrid and Yukon Hybrid as the most aerodynamic full-size SUVs at 0.349 (cd).
The new XFE – Xtra Fuel Economy – models reflect GM’s quick adaptation to an evolving market that remains a very important segment. They are available on 2WD vehicles equipped with the 5.3L V-8 and six-speed transmission. They achieve 15 city and 21 highway mileage ratings versus comparable non-XFE models’ 14/20 ratings. Most importantly, the increased efficiency does not come at the expense of capability. Towing ratings for the Tahoe and Yukon are unchanged, while the Silverado and Sierra increase from 6,600 pounds (2,994 kg) to 7,000 pounds (3,175 kg) due to the new, six-speed transmission and high-capacity cooling package.

JACK ROUSH, VALVOLINE COLLABORATE ON NEW HIGH-PERFORMANCE ROUSH® MOTOR OIL FAMIL
It’s no secret that Jack Roush knows how to make power out of engines. It’s also no secret that Valvoline knows how to make oil, the lifeblood of an engine. So it makes sense that these two giants in their respective fields would collaborate to create ROUSH® Motor Oil, the ultimate engine elixir for performance vehicles.
Roush Fenway Racing exclusively uses Valvoline oil in their stock cars because it is the best in the industry. But always the innovator and continually looking for ways to improve engine performance, Roush one day sat down with the Valvoline technicians and posed a simple question
- “What can we do to improve the oil used in high-performance street engines?” The answer led to the development of ROUSH Motor Oil, a line of six new motor oils for performance vehicles old and new.

Lucas Oil made available at all NHRA Division 1 races
Sportsman racers competing in Division 1 will be able to purchase their motor oil at the races directly from series' sponsor Lucas Oil beginning with the next Division 1 event, Aug. 22-24, at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Md.
Working in conjunction with Northeast sportsman racer and Lucas Oil distributor Billy Caprara of Fx Caprara in Watertown, N.Y., a fully-stocked and staffed Lucas Oil trailer will be on hand at the final three Division 1 races on the 2008 schedule. After Cecil County, there will be races held Sept. 5-7 at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J., and Oct. 3-5 at Atco Dragway in Atco, N.J.
"We all need oil to race so it makes sense to use the best oil on the market and support a sponsor that has given so much to our sport," Caprara said. "Plus it will help a lot of racers out to know they can get some great oil right there at the track. We won't run out and they won’t need to weigh down their trailers with extra supplies."

Three NASCAR Cup Drivers, Including Points Leader, Conclude Goodyear Tire Test
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leader Kyle Busch, along with Cup Series drivers Travis Kvapil and Scott Riggs, each participated in the second and final day of tire testing by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
In an effort by Goodyear to produce the best tire for the Pep Boys Auto 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in October, the three drivers, their crews and Goodyear engineers spent two days testing a variety of builds, compounds and configurations on AMS’ 1.54-mile quad-oval track.
“The way the surface is here [at Atlanta], it’s always pretty hard to find a tire that will cooperate with it,” said Busch, who has seven wins this year. “The tire was just too hard here in the spring and we didn’t even really wear on the tire at all.

Yokohama Tire Corporation to Adjust Prices on Consumer Tires up to 6 Percent
Due to continued record increases in the costs of raw materials and energy, Yokohama Tire Corporation announced it will adjust prices accordingly on its consumer tires by up to 6 percent, effective July 1, 2008. There will be in-line adjustments, as well, which will be announced at a later date. Commercial Light Truck, Medium Truck and off-the-road (OTR) tires will not be affected by the increase.
"We are doing our best to contain our costs, but raw materials, energy and transportation costs continue to reach record-high escalations. These costs, unfortunately, have to be reflected in Yokohama's pricing," said Dan King, Yokohama vice president of sales.
