 Additional 2011 Honda Models are on their way to dealers shortly.

American Honda Motor Company’s Powersports Division announced to its dealers today an additional release of street bikes and off-road models for the 2011 model year. These Hondas include the Fury®, Interstate™, Shadow® RS and Shadow Phantom with the Sabre and Stateline customs released at a later date. A pair of popular off-road motorcycles return, the CRF80F and CRF100F, along with the Big Red™ Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MUV).
“The 2011 model year lineup continues to expand for Honda,” said Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino. “Here we have a variety of very popular cruisers and customs, a pair of Honda off-road machines that have remained extremely popular with riders over the years, plus a revamped and very impressive Big Red MUV. Our selection of models for 2011 keeps growing and there will be more to follow.”

| Ferrari Launches Recall Of Fire-Prone 458s |

Combustible adhesive blamed for blazes that destroyed six of the $230,000 Italia supercars.

Ferrari is recalling 1,248 of its 458 Italia sports cars after six of them burst into flames.
The cause of the spontaneous blazes is a combustible adhesive used in the wheel-arch assemblies that can overheat and ignite, the Italian automaker said. The company has been investigating the problem since August after reports of the fires.

The WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang will debut at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas before being auctioned off for charity.

WD-40 has partnered with SEMA’s charity arm, SEMA Cares, to build a custom version of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT, which will debut at the 2010 SEMA Show, November 2–5, in Las Vegas.
Leading aftermarket manufacturers are pitching in to give the classic American musclecar a distinctive WD-40 look. They include a custom body kit from Street Scene Equipment, a Stillen AP racing six-piston brake kit with front calipers, Forgeline wheels and a Paxton supercharger system. Build partners are documenting how they use WD-40 during the remodel process, and video footage will be featured online.

I don't mean the introduction of more crossovers (though that's happening too): I am referring to the efforts being put into a car's design in order to make them stand out from the masses. Most new cars on sale are - to one degree or another - competent, safe, well-equipped and comfortable. How they look is therefore increasingly of more importance.

Chicago — Ford Motor Company today revealed its newest pursuit-rated vehicle—Ford’s first-ever specially designed Police Interceptor utility built for the rigors of police work.
The new vehicle is designed to complement Ford’s all-new Police Interceptor sedan, which was introduced earlier this year. Combined, the two vehicles provide law enforcement agencies the ultimate in versatility and choice, something no other police vehicle on the road today can match.

| Cadillac August Sales Rise 83 Percent To Outpace Luxury Segment |
DETROIT – Cadillac continued to gain strength in the U.S. luxury auto market as the brand posted total U.S. sales in August of 12,689, up 83 percent from the same month a year ago.
Much of that gain has been fueled by consumer demand for Cadillac vehicles, resulting in retail sales gains of 83 percent in August, the seventh consecutive month of total sales gains.
Cadillac total U.S. sales through August have risen 50 percent, compared to the first eight months of last year. Cadillac gained more than 2 percentage points of share in the U.S. luxury market through July – making it the fastest-growing luxury brand – and is expected to gain ground again in August.
“Cadillac has an impressive line-up that continues to attract returning and new luxury buyers to the brand,” said Kurt McNeil, vice president of Cadillac Sales and Service. “Whether someone is looking for a luxury sedan, coupe, crossover or SUV, Cadillac now has a product offering that’s commanding attention.”
Total SRX crossover sales are up 209 percent, while retail sales rose 410 percent – the 12th straight month of triple-digit retail sales increases. SRX has been gaining market share in the mid-size luxury crossover segment since its redesign for the 2010 model year.

Jerry Magnuson’s “Magnitude” a ’32 Ford - based Muroc roadster
VENTURA, CA -- Unlike most fine artists who are content to have their sculpture displayed in museums, courtyards and public parks, Chip Foose is much happier when his finely sculpted shapes are rolling down the highway usually above the legal speed limit. One of his latest creations, Jerry Magnuson’s “Magnitude” a ’32 Ford - based Muroc roadster won the prestigious Goodguys 2010 Classic Instruments Street Rod of the Year. As with most works of art, the Muroc started as a vision commissioned by long-time hot rodder Jerry Kugel, designed by Foose and entirely hand formed by metal craftsman Marcel. The result is a custom body that is longer, lower and sleeker than a ’32 Ford, but one that retains the all of the character of that iconic roadster. Ten Muroc bodies were built, one was purchased nearly eight years ago by Jerry Magnuson to create the Magnitude. The body rests on a Kugel custom chassis with independent front and rear suspension, powered by a Magna Charger supercharged LS1 Chevy engine backed up by a Tremec manual six-speed transmission. |
