Finishing out The Off-Road Championship (TORC) with an astonishing 28 team podiums, the Rockstar / Makita Team LeDuc Racing made their second Lucas Oil Off Road Series (LOORS) appearance this past weekend in Primm Valley, Nevada. As the final two rounds of competition got underway, the stands were at capacity as fans piled into the complex to witness the conclusion of Lucas Oil’s inaugural off-road short course season. Determined to take home victories, Team LeDuc Racing would not let up as the fierce fender-to-fender battles in the Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 competitions brought the spectators to their feet until the checkered flags came out.

Saturday’s competition found Todd LeDuc in the No. 8 Rockstar / Makita Unlimited 2 Ford claiming a hard-fought victory and also earning the fastest lap time of the competition. Returning to the track on Sunday, Todd once again battled the field of twenty Unlimited 2 trucks to claim the second spot on the podium.
Saturday’s Unlimited 4 competition brought with it both good and bad as Kyle LeDuc crossed the finish line to claim second place in his No. 99 Rockstar / Makita Unlimited 4 Ford. Teammate and father, Curt LeDuc, was forced to pull off the track when the power steering failed in his No. 43 Rockstar / Makita Ford and caused a spectacular collision with the K-rail in turn two. Sunday’s race found Curt taking the pole position and Kyle lining up second. Leading the first few laps, Curt held off the competitive four-wheel drive field but in the end, it was Kyle who would claim the victory in the final race of the 2009 season for the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.
Adding two victories and two podiums to their impressive resume this past weekend, Team LeDuc Racing continues to dominate in short course racing and hopes to carry the momentum forward as they head into the 42nd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 on Friday, November 20, 2009. Curt LeDuc will step into the driver’s seat of Nick Vanderwey’s No. 84 SCORE Trophy Truck while son, Kyle LeDuc, will co-drive. Todd LeDuc will also be competing in SCORE’s prestigious unlimited truck class when he takes over the wheel for Ron Whitton at race mile 380 and brings the No. 39 Trophy Truck to the finish.
